MAJOR SPONSORS LOGISTICAL SPONSORS |
Our major and logistical SponsorsMajor and Logistical sponsorship can be allocated to either the running of the organisation, the Big Journey itself, or both.
The majority of our Major and Logistical sponsors do in fact contribute to both categories and many of our volunteers are themselves affiliated to these sponsors as either associates, employees or business owners. These are sponsors that keep the organisations primary fund and awareness raising activities viable. These sponsorship's answer to a variety of needs from big to small and come in forms ranging from monetary donations, services, products or benefit events. We are grateful to count them among our longest standing supporters and value our relationships with them on an organisational as well as a personal level. |

Logistical Sponsors 2018Featured Sponsor storIESKomatso is the principal sponsor of JOHB, meaning that there is no single aspect of our organisation and its activities that does not entail or rely on their support. Our latest and most exciting news is the purchase of an ultrasound machine that will be present on future Journeys. The implication of this is enormous. Also recently, JOHB was able to buy a van, pink of course, that is capable of carrying a group of bodies and equipment, which has made a huge difference to our smaller campaigning events throughout the year. We are extremely proud of our partnership with Komatsu and value their participation in our operations and The Big Journey. The participating Komatsu staff are always keen to be involved in all practical matters. Gratitude and thanks to our Principal Sponsor, Komatsu! Bokamoso Private hospital has become a central part of our Big Journey campaign and the work that it generates in terms of the patients we find that need further help. They are also responsible for the Doctor and Nurses that do all the thousands of exams and tests.
They have been very involved in our October breast cancer awareness drive, sponsoring free mammograms throughout the month. Bokamoso is also the sponsor of the coloring book so enjoyed by the children we meet on our travels. Bokamoso has elevated our awareness campaign to a service that benefits people country wide. |
Featured sponsor storiesBarloworld Botswana has been not only a sponsor but also an intrinsic feature of every Big Journey since 2010. Every year, four brand new vehicles, straight off the showroom floor, are wrapped in pink and added to the Big Journey fleet.
The Big Journey road show is arranged into pods that include one vehicle and three bikes. This allows the Journey to spread out on the road, allowing traffic to pass safely. The vehicle leads the three bikes and acts as their protector in every way. The driver alerts the bikes to upcoming obstacles and hazards like pot holes and animals and is also in constant contact with the entire Journey, reporting any issues and warnings to all. The driver is responsible for the well being of the three Riders in their pod, carrying first aid, water and personal belongings in the vehicle. The vehicles provide a travel solution for many of the crew members and are very useful for storing pamphlets and materials for quick access at venues. The drivers this year are employees of AVIS, Seriti, Bank Gaborone and Auto Amour / Silverton Radiators. These sponsors collaborate with Barloworld on the wrapping and branding of the vehicles and send a representative to act as a driver. The vehicles and drivers are invaluable to the success of the Big Journey and we consider them an important part of our organisation family. |
THANKs to all our 2018 Sponsors!
