About ​Volunteering for JOHB

All Journey of Hope Botswana volunteers must adhere to our policies and participate in our programs in order to qualify as an official representative of our organisation and its objectives.

Volunteer requirements

​Training

​All volunteers are trained on the following:
  • JOHB statement.
  • Reporting structure.
  • How to do a self breast exam.
  • Public behaviour expectations and policies.
  • What to expect on the Big Journey.

Licenses and Registrations

Volunteers must have valid licences for bikes and/or vehicles or relevant registrations and qualifications if performing medical services. 

Volunteer sponsorship

​All crew and riders are responsible for sourcing their own sponsorship that is valid for one year. Implicit in this sponsorship is the expectation of attendance on The Big Journey and reasonable attendance at events throughout the year, with a focus on JOHB fund and awareness raising events. Volunteers are equipped with a sponsorship request letter on JOHB stationery with which to validate their sponsorship request.
