Komatsu Botswana partnership
Not for profit organisations like ours cannot exist without the kind of support we can rely on from Komatsu and their staff. Every year Komatsu staff have joined us on our Big Journey and wholeheartedly pitched in, taking part in every aspect of our activities. The Komatsu staff Journey participants are an important part of the team and a big favourite with the people we encounter, showing warmth compassion in all they do.
As a company that employs a sizable portion of Botswana citizens, Komatsu has a solid and comprehensive CSR program that can only be admired and compliments the aims and objectives of JOHB in bringing awareness education to their own staff and the people of Botswana as a whole. We believe this ethos lies behind our successful partnership.
Their CSR program can be found here: Komatsu, Corporate and Social Responsibility
Besides this alignment in philosophy and intentions, Komatsu is also the primary reason JOHB has been able to occupy a premises that is the central hub from where we plan and execute all our activities, store our equipment, materials and scooters. Our premises allow our staff and volunteers a comfortable office space with all the necessary facilities needed to administer to the business of running our organisation. It is thanks to Komatsu that we able to employ two key staff members on a part time basis.
The funding support we receive from Komatsu is also instrumental to being able to produce and distribute our awareness materials and purchase essential equipment.
We cannot express our gratitude to Komatsu enough.
We can testify to the truth of these words from Martin Cowley, MD of Komatsu Botswana;
“Komatsu is committed to being a responsible and caring social partner by aligning the company's business & know-how with the needs of society. We strive to enhance the quality of life, develop and grow with the people we serve via our program.
As Komatsu Botswana, we are proud, and indeed privileged, to play a role in supporting the excellent, and far reaching work being done in our country by Journey of Hope Botswana. Pula!”
KOMATSU SPONSORS AN ULTRASOUND MACHINE (2017)
We are very excited to announce that Komatsu have sponsored us in full for the purchase of our very own Ultrasound machine.
This is going to make our Big Journey even more successful as we will be able to rule out Breast cysts and Fibroadenomas in the villages we visit and it will cut down on us having to transport and accommodate many ladies from far afield as well as paying for their tests.
The money saved will also free up funds to go towards mammograms, which we still need to outsource.
Thank you so much to KOMATSU who have been our principal sponsor for almost 5 years now. Without KOMATSU we would not be the successful organization we have grown to be.
Thank you for changing lives!
